Picard keeps beating a dead hor… uh.. cow. (How the media is milkin’ it, Part Deux)

Uh, not that Picard.

You might remember a post on here a couple weeks ago about the “other” Picard (Professor Robert Picard)’s speech at the International Symposium on Online Journalism Program in Austin, Texas, comparing the media to a dairy cow en route to slaughter. (BTW: The videos from the Symposium are up. Check them out.)

Well, this week, Vin Crosbie raps about Picard, a man who Vin describes as “perhaps the world’s leading expert on media economics” then qualifies it with “He is Hamrin Professor of Media Economics and Director of the Media Management and Transformation Centre at Jönköping University in Sweden and currently a resident fellow at Harvard University’s Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy.”

Well, Vin breaks down Picard’s speech with source charts, video, and other cool stuff about how we’re all in big trouble. I won’t waste anymore of your valuable time–go read it.
