Hey gang,
Sorry about the silence. I’m working on a longer blog entry for early next week about online media job titles, responsibilities and their pay rates and I need your feedback.
I know this info for a few dozen homies in the biz but wanted to open it up to you all to learn more (and to share more accurate info with you all).
RESPONSE DEADLINE: SUNDAY, OCTOBER 14 BY 5 P.M. EASTERN!
It doesn’t matter if you’re a lowly web producer for The BFE Herald or a general manager for the New York Times–all responses are welcome. You don’t need to leave your name or even where you work (although the market/publication info helps with accuracy and differentiating the cost of living in different areas … I.e. Online producers at the Washington Post probably make more than online producers at a weekly paper in rural Ohio).
I’d even like to hear from those not working at newspapers, if you’re in the web development biz, creative/ads/marketing, TV, Radio, consulting, or whatever, hit that link and share the secret! 30 seconds is all it takes.
Obviously, all responses will be confidential. The pool of data collected will be used to help get more accurate general numbers as to what job titles mean for web workers responsibilities and pay rates. (This idea came from a flood of j-school students this summer asking me for my thoughts on this info.)
Please be honest and share the link with your homies in the biz!
Here’s a Tiny Url link to share:

The more responses we get, the better! Who knows, your participation in this 30-second survey could help you find out that your boss is scrooging you out of big money.
Cheers,
Will

Hey this is a great idea. Hope you get plenty of responses. Cool blog name too. Seems like you guys in Palm Beach are innovative with blogs outside of the paper.

So this information is being collected for your blog entry, and not for another organization?
What will become of the data after the entry is posted?

True, this info is just for the blog entry. It won’t be posted in raw form, but distilled down to anecdotal generalizations.
After the entry is posted the data and survey will be expired from Survey Monkey (and disappear).
The results so far have been very interesting.
