Right now, it damn well better work quick and fast,” said Quincy Smith, president of CBS Interactive. One more: “From our perspective, does it suck for the user? - Alan Mutter on how not only are we getting walloped in page views, we’re getting decimated in audience time spent on news sites compared to other internet sites.
- Not much has been going down on the Rethinking the Mercury News blog during the summer but they’re now sharing some of the prototypes and theories on how to reconstruct the newspaper. They are freaking awesome for doing this. The Merc has some of the most talented and creative visual people in the country and I’m really excited to see what they come up with and how it floats. I wish more papers would think like this (but most papers aren’t in the heart of Silicon Valley where newspapers are home-y at best.
