Online Editorial Director
PalmBeachPost.com is seeking an innovative thinker and manager to oversee a growing online staff in a competitive, metropolitan market. The Online Editorial Director will be involved in the strategic planning of initiatives ranging from channel redesigns to new products that will expand our audience.
Other responsibilities include:
– Directing online news coverage of major events such as hurricanes.
– Overseeing development and execution of new content.
– Assisting with ongoing convergence efforts of the newsroom, including multimedia and site production training for reporters and editors.
– Conceiving ways to engage users to share content on our site.
– Understanding industry trends and issues, including alternate-delivery methods (e-mail, mobile, text messaging, downloadable audio/video, etc.).
– Working with vendors who may supply creative, statistical or content support.
– Having strong knowledge of common Web production tools (HTML, XML, CSS, content management system, site metrics/traffic-analysis reports) and familiarity with Flash, video, audio, databases, mobile efforts, e-mail delivery systems and SEO.
