Well, this is it.

I finally gave in.

For so long, I’d been a fan of blogs as a reader. I’d always admired and dug people the had their guts to put their thoughts out there for all to see and critique. Even in my college newspapers days when I had opportunities to be a columnist (which, let’s be honest, is all a blog is… except on a more immediate level).

There’s a lot of crap out there in the “blogosphere” … a word I shutter to utter. There’s a lot of angry teens, bored housewives and even more.

The blog is an invention of our society that everyone thinks their these beautiful and special snowflakes (stole from Fight Club). These self important centers of the universe. So with this blog, I’m going to try and keep these entries directed on journalism, design, Web 2.0 and online development topics and now how much I hate Susie. Or the latest reality TV show. Or the cute thing my dog does. There’s enough of that crap out there. There’s enough Regis and Kelly’s out there.

I also realize, I’m joining a crowded field. Journalists with blogs. I believe as Bob Calhoun does, most journalists shouldn’t have generalized blogs. As Jon Stewart put it… giving voices to those who already have voices. A lot of news organizations with blogs are shite. Because most journalists are overworked, boring people.

I’ve found myself frequenting so many other blogs and spending a large part of the time commenting on stuff… I figured it might be nice to have all those thoughts collected in one area. Hopefully to spur some sort of coherant conversation between myself and other awesome people.

So this is going to be an experiment.

We’ll see what happens. Stay tuned and welcome.
